Well, things are running just a little too smooth for Nehemiah and his adversaries don't like it one bit. Since their military attack doesn't work, maybe they just need to sabotage Nehemiah personally though deception and deception. This is a true test of Nehemiah's intestinal fortitude.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new walls and gates, Nehemiah plans a six hour worship service where Ezra reads the newly translated Laws of Moses aloud. When the assembly heard God's Word, they realized that they were dirty rotten sinners and needed to do something about that.

Nehemiah comes to the realization that some of the business practices of the leaders in Jerusalem were not only hurting other Jews, they were also in direct opposition to the Bible.

Nehemiah's project is going so well, that those that stand in opposition to the rebuilding of the wall organize and devise a plan to stop him. Nehemiah has a plan of his own as well!
